$6 per student (includes train ride and tour)
Available on Tuesday and Thursday only
Students learn about economics from the perspective of the railroad and its customers before taking a ride on a Rio Grande Southern motorcar (one of six still in existence) that saved the railroad from bankruptcy.
Railroads have been expanding our world here in Colorado for over 150 years! Not only have railroads sparked innovation but they played an integral role in westward expansion, accelerating settlement, and helping shape our state’s economy. This open-air museum covers 15 acres and provides multiple educational opportunities including standard-based field trips, workshops, digital lesson plans, and tours to learn how trains have been transforming our state since the 1870s.
