The honeybee plays an important role in agriculture, and its health is indicative of the health of our environment. Participants explore the intricate world of the honeybee super-organism, observe an empty honeybee hive, and engage in active learning all about pollination.
City Growers uses urban agriculture to engage youth in experiential learning, nurturing a lifelong relationship to food, their health, and the natural world. We host field trips for youth at Brooklyn Grange Rooftop Farms in Sunset Park, and at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
GETTING HERE:
A City Growers educator will meet your group at the Captain America statue inside the mall entrance to Bed Bath and Beyond. Participants will then ride the passenger elevator directly to the roof.
