During our “Lights and Shadows” experience students will explore the fascinating science of light, shadows, and colors through interactive play. They’ll rotate through hands-on stations where they can manipulate light with prisms, create and observe shadows, and experiment with color mixing.
This experience also includes time set aside for free-play within the museum at the conclusion of our group activities.
This option is available during the museum’s normal operating hours when the museum is open to the public.
Akron Children’s Museum is a vibrant space where play inspires exploration, creativity, and problem-solving.
Located in downtown Akron next to Lock 3 Park, the museum offers hands-on exhibits focused on Health and Wellness, STEM, Arts and Culture, and Community and Civic Engagement.
What is a Children's Museum?
A children’s museum is a special kind of museum designed specifically for kids and their families, where play and hands-on activities are central to the experience. Children's museums create environments where kids can touch, build, experiment, and imagine while learning at the same time.
