City Growers is excited to offer a new 90-minute field trip for grades 6–12, designed for groups of up to 30 students. This workshop includes a farm tour, a discussion on the history of natural dyeing, and a hands-on activity where students create naturally dyed fabric using farm-grown materials. Through this experience, students will explore the importance of sustainable practices and rethink the impact of fast fashion and climate change.
City Growers uses urban agriculture to engage youth in experiential learning, nurturing a lifelong relationship to food, their health, and the natural world. We host field trips for youth at Brooklyn Grange Rooftop Farms in Sunset Park, and at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
