Celebrate the impact railroads had on Colorado. Ride
behind a historic locomotive that ran in Colorado, learn Morse code, meet a Hobo, and learn his language, try turning the turntable, and more.
Railroads have been expanding our world here in Colorado for over 150 years! Not only have railroads sparked innovation but they played an integral role in westward expansion, accelerating settlement, and helping shape our state’s economy. This open-air museum covers 15 acres and provides multiple educational opportunities including standard-based field trips, workshops, digital lesson plans, and tours to learn how trains have been transforming our state since the 1870s.
