K-6 Grade - Learn about the history of New York through its mass transit system. Find out how mass transit impacted the development of the city and the lives of everyday New Yorkers. Note: This tour no longer includes the costumed storytelling performance.
The New York Transit Museum is dedicated to telling and preserving the stories of mass transportation – extraordinary engineering feats, workers who labored in the tunnels over 100 years ago, communities that were drastically transformed, and the ever-evolving technology, design, and ridership of a system that runs 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Opening hours reflect the group tour schedule (Wed-Fri) and the Birthday Experience schedule (Sat-Sun). Please visit our website for the general public hours.
