Sheldon teaching artist visits classrooms to teach about world music classification and instrument design, showing examples of student made instruments and teaching how they create sound through vibration and what category of classification they fit. Additionally, the teaching artist will introduce the SOLID Challenge Statement to students. Students are given opportunities to participate throughout the presentation.
Since its construction in 1912, The Sheldon has housed great thinkers, creators, artists and leaders, first as the home of the Ethical Society, now as what it has evolved to be: the premier destination for the arts in the St. Louis area and beyond.
School programming at The Sheldon includes an educational concert series, STEAM classroom programs, and gallery visits.
