The Children's Chorale is currently accepting applications for their School Partnership Program. This year-long residency pairs a Children's Chorale conductor with a music teacher on a weekly basis to provide assistance in the music classroom or with a school choir.
Since 1994, the Colorado Children’s Chorale has offered instruction to students and support for music teachers with professional conductors, accompanists, choreographers and other resources, at no charge, to more than 15,500 students in 51 schools and agencies across the Denver metro area. Each year up to eight schools partner with the Chorale, each with a program tailored to the specific needs of particular classrooms.
School Partnerships:
Offer a music specialist the opportunity to collaborate with professionals in their
field, teaching choral singing and performing skills, working within the framework
of their own program
Bring a level of professional performance and high expectations to participating
students
Incorporate critical life skills such as discipline, responsibility, teamwork and
respect for others — all in their own school community with no audition
requirement
Align with the Colorado Model Content Standards in Music (adopted 1997),
Dance (adopted 2000) and Theater (adopted 2000) as adopted by the Colorado
Department of Education
