One of Philadelphia’s five original squares, Franklin Square is Center City's favorite playtime oasis. Centered around its beautiful fountain, Franklin Square also features the Parx Liberty Carousel, the one-of-a-kind Philly Mini Golf course, and the renowned SquareBurger.


Lunch Notes

Picnic tables are available throughout Franklin Square for public use. The Pavilion in Franklin Square, an indoor, climate-controlled space is available for private lunch reservations. Groups may bring their own lunches, or order through our approved list of caterers. Contact the Education Department for more details.

Bathroom Notes

Public restrooms are open and available during operating hours. A family restroom is also available.

Full Day Field Trip Experience - Grades 4-6

Experience all that Historic Philadelphia has to offer with a fully-planned, guided, interactive adventure where students are inspired by some of Philadelphia's greatest heroes. Visit the Betsy Ross House and learn the full story behind the legendary flag maker. Embark on a Once Upon A Nation Story Stroll, an educational, engaging, walking-tour style program where students play a part in bringing the past to life in the places where history was made. Visit Arch Street Meeting House, a historic Quaker meeting house, and learn about the values that helped to shape Philadelphia. End your day with a visit to another site or museum in the area - we'll take care of the reservation. The experience includes trained Field Trip Facilitators who make sure everything runs safely and smoothly, curricular materials that meet Common Core standards, and designated bus drop-off and pick-up locations.

Philly Mini Golf

Putt your way through Center City's ONLY miniature golf course, featuring 18 holes designed after favorite Philly spots like Elfreth’s Alley, the Ben Franklin Bridge, and the Liberty Bell.
