JCHS provides complimentary guided tours of the Truman Courthouse Tuesday thru Friday at 11AM and 2PM. Tours begin in the History Center.
Situated in the very heart of the Historic Square of Independence, Missouri, the Truman Courthouse has a history that dates back to before Independence's most famous (and only) US President served as the Presiding Judge of Jackson County. Visitors to the courthouse will tour the Truman Courtroom, Brady Courtroom, and the Jackson Co. Art Gallery.


Lunch Notes

The building sits on the Independence Square, there are many restaurant options, but people may also eat their lunch on the lawn, or at the nearby farmer's market which has shade and benches.

Bathroom Notes

There are family restrooms in the basement of the building, as well as 4 men's and women's restrooms.
