Breeches & Petticoats

Description

Meet Sarah Melton, a colonial businesswoman who worked as a “mantua maker” designing one-of-a-kind dresses for her clients in Philadelphia, and learn about popular clothing styles of the late 1700s. During this highly interactive program, members of your group will have the opportunity to be dressed in 18th-century clothing of the “middle sort” as Sarah explains the design, creation, and purpose of each item.
