Historian's Apprentice

Description

Students will step into the role of historian and have the opportunity to study and transcribe primary source documents, learn how to take an oral history, observe best practices for the preservation and handling of historical materials, and work collaboratively to create a museum quality display of artifacts. A tour of Kean University including Kean Hall once a part of the Liberty Hall property, built by famed politician, banker, and resident of Liberty Hall Senator Hamilton Fish Kean, will round out the field trip. Additional workshops available. Tours of Kean University available upon request.

Liberty Hall’s historians and staff are dedicated to ensuring that every visitor who enters the museum leaves with a greater appreciation for our nation and our state’s history.
